JP Card Prices is a price tracker focused on the Japanese trading card market. We make Japan's pricing data readable in English and German so international collectors can make informed decisions.
Why Japanese-language cards?
The Japanese Pokémon TCG and One Piece Card Game markets operate on a different pricing curve than their English equivalents. Print runs, release timing, grading preferences, and local demand all create systematic gaps — and for many cards, the Japanese version is 20–40% cheaper than the English release. For overseas collectors this means arbitrage opportunities; for investors it means understanding the more liquid market that often leads price moves globally.
How we collect data
We aggregate daily price snapshots from trusted Japanese sources, including major domestic card shops and price-index services. Prices shown reflect the middle of the bid-ask spread: we track both buy-back (kaitori) and retail (hanbai) prices.
- Ka-Nabell — one of Japan's largest card retailers; primary price signal for buy/sell spreads.
- Pokeca-Bank / Pokeca-Chart — transaction-based indices for Pokémon TCG.
- Torechart, Onepiece-card-atari, Altema — daily trend data for both games.
- TCGPlayer (English comparison) — market price data for the English-language equivalent card, converted to JPY for side-by-side comparison.
Our methodology
Every card page shows a 90-day price history reconstructed from daily snapshots. The market index on the dashboard is a volume-weighted average of the top 200 cards in each game, rebalanced monthly. Weekly mover reports compare the 7-day moving average of the sell price against the prior week.
All prices are shown in Japanese Yen (¥). Currency conversion is provided only on JP vs EN comparison pages, using the daily BOJ reference rate.
Affiliate disclosure
When you click "View on Ka-Nabell" or "Check on eBay", we may earn a commission if you complete a purchase. This does not affect the price you pay, and we do not adjust rankings or data based on affiliate relationships. All recommendations are driven by market data.
Update schedule
Prices refresh daily at 13:00 JST (04:00 UTC). Weekly movers and JP vs EN gap analyses publish every Monday. New set coverage begins on the day of release.
